Fur Real?

Sooooooo many great faux furs out there now!

Super Power

Jeans: Topshop. Shirt: American Apparel. Clutch: Simone Camille.
Boots: Charkviani for Lucas Nascimento.
Coat: Topshop.

I find the idea of thigh high boots quite scary as they can very easily veer into costume territory. With this in mind I had planned to keep this look very simple- just jeans and a white shirt... but then I threw all logic out of the window and threw on a leopard print coat like a cape. Hello, super hero costume.

Got Milk?

I got a lot of questions about the Chanel 'Lait de Coco' bag that I posted on Instagram so thought I'd give you all the info.

The bag was shown as part of the Chanel 2014 Fall collection. The show had a supermarket theme. Bags were shown in meat trays, models carried Chanel baskets and labels on every day items had been 'Chanelafide'.  This particular bag was shown as part of look #172  and carried by model Ola Rudnicka (thank you style.com).

The milk carton bag has now sold out in store but there are still a few floating around on line... I personally wouldn't recommend that you buy a bag like this from eBay (I'm scared it would be a fake) but I did find one on Portero.Com which is a very reputable site (I've bought bags from them before). It's pricey and not for everyone but is a true collectors piece and a little slice of Chanel history from the Lagerfeld reign.

That 70's Show

Skirt: Topshop. Jacket: Topshop Unique. Blouse: Zara.
Bag: Louis VuittonLoafers: Bass Weejuns.
Earrings: BaubleBar.

I love it when a piece can transition through the seasons. This Topshop skirt was a summer favourite of mine (seen here) but something about the texture means it also works through the (slightly) colder days here in Los Angeles.

I'm not often drawn to brown but the 70's feel of this jacket seemed like an easy way to key into the retro feel that was so apparent across many of the shows last fashion week. Black leather will of course always be my first love though.

blinding

Jeans: Ashish. Top: Topshop. Sandals: Saint Laurent.
Backpack: Aspinal.

These jeans are a party all by themselves. I got to borrow them as part of my column in last month's Glamour and totally relished blinding people with their sheer fabulosity.

Prim

Velvet Dress: Topshop Unique. Blouse: Zara.
Jacket: Balenciaga. Shoes: Senso.

I love the texture of this velvet dress. Velvet is just so 'touchable'. I tried to cancel out some of the 'school girl' vibe by adding my most worn in leather jacket and my favourite leopard flats.

Daytime Disco

Dress: Ashish. Jacket: Anine Bing.
Bag: Longchamp. Boots: Balenciaga.
Belt: Vintage.

Quite possibly the most sparkliest thing I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. Weighs a ton though!

New Denim Icons

I'm so excited to announce my involvement in McArthurGlen's 'Denim Icons' campaign. It's no secret  that I love denim so it made perfect sense for me to want to be part of a campaign that celebrates it in all its iconic versatility and highlights McArthurGlen as a denim shopping destination.

Watch the video of me talking about my love of denim and which icons inspire me here :)

Trousers or Slacks

Trousers: Three Floor.  T.Shirt: Vintage.
Sandals: Saint Laurent.

Would you call these 'trousers' or 'slacks'? Is there a difference? Do we really care?!  I've been living in these lately. I dress them down with faded tees and up with slinky camis.

Culottes

Leather Culotte Dungarees: Whistles.
Crop Top: American Apparel. Sandals: Saint Laurent.
Bangle: CĂ©line.

By now you all know how much I love leather pieces. But I love it even more when I find a piece in a guise I haven't seen before. Leather. Dungarees. Culottes. Be still my heart.

Hot in Hollywood

Jeans: Ralph Lauren. Camisole: Tibi. Belt: J Crew.
Sandals: Saint Laurent. Choker: Maison Martin Margiela.

Trying to keep cool in the Hollywood heat in a silky camisole and well ventilated boyfriend jeans.

I'm wearing my current favourite red lipstick: Burberry Lip Velvet in 'Military Red'

Streamlining

Skirt: Zara. T.Shirt: ACNE. Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Cuffs: THPSHOP.

I've spent the last couple of weeks streamlining my wardrobe. I've found myself less and less attracted to 'of the moment' pieces and more interested in pieces that have longevity like this lace trimmed skirt.... The shoes are another matter ;)

Vivian

Shorts: Vintage Levis. T.Shirt: Anine Bing.
Jacket: Bec&Bridge. Boots: Balenciaga.
Belt: Anine Bing.

Giving myself 'Pretty Woman' vibes with this red blazer.
